Sal’s Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Sewer’s North Royalton office received over 2,000 calls over the holiday weekend. Across the United States, we are experiencing extreme weather. A cold arctic blast caused temperatures to decline in the negatives on Christmas weekend. Ohioans were then hit with record-breaking highs as temperatures tipped 60.

Going from one extreme temperature to another can wreak havoc on homes. Our neighbors from North Royalton to Sandusky were impacted. Northeast Ohio residents had to deal with furnace issues due to the frigid temperatures. The plumbing emergencies increased when the temperatures increased due to bursting pipes. When frozen pipes thaw, they can burst. In an HVAC or plumbing emergency, you need service fast.
As president Sal Sidoti chatted with Flash, he mentioned that the HVAC industry is still dealing with supply chain shortages. Commercial air conditioners, boilers, furnaces, and other industrial units are experiencing the greatest shortages. Before Covid, you could call the manufacturer and the next day have a new commercial unit. Those times have changed, and Sal’s Heating & Cooling, Plumbing, & Sewer in North Royalton are adjusting to meet these demands.
On a positive note, residential HVAC availability has improved. They are not experiencing the part shortages they were earlier in the pandemic. However, like many companies, staffing manufacturing positions has been a challenge.
